SFI Health launches new sustainability initiative

SFI Health continues on its journey of sustainability with a new initiative to increase its efforts in environmental protection, social engagement and economic responsibility in its culture, strategy and operations.

“As a global leader in natural health, it’s our duty to protect the environment where we source our ingredients,” says Elisa Ranieri, Global Brand Manager at SFI Health. “With this initiative, we keep the environment at the heart of our strategy while learning more about the role consumers play in sustainability.”

One significant output of the initiative will be the launch of SFI Health’s first Annual Sustainability Report. This report will meet the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) sustainability standards, the world’s most widely used framework for sustainability reporting. The publication is scheduled to arrive in late 2022 and will include SFI Health’s sustainability strategy and its achievements and shortcomings over the year.

SFI Health is currently collecting data for the report, including a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data which includes environmental data such as energy and water usage, COemissions, and employee mobility; social data on community and philanthropic engagement; and economic data such as use of local suppliers, anti-corruption and procurement practices.

“The data will help SFI Health assess its sustainability performance and define future strategic direction, highlighting our innovative nature and genuine motivation to be a good corporate citizen,” says Ranieri.

This isn’t the first sustainability initiative for SFI Health – the company is already committed to improving the use of sustainable packaging and favours sustainably-sourced ingredients in its natural healthcare products, including sustainable fish oil for its Equazen® product line.

Ranieri says the initiative is much larger than SFI Health. “No organisation alone can generate the kind of impact we hope to achieve, so we’re determined to support the sustainability performance of our partners, suppliers, clients, distributors and retailers as well,” says Ranieri.

“We see it as a responsibility to ourselves, our customers, younger generations and our planet.”
